I've been thinking a lot about New Years Resolutions for the last
couple of days... Last year was really the first year that I made a
resolution AND focused on it for the entire year. So it seemed natural
to continue the momentum for 2012. I know this is probably just
semantics, but I've decided drop the "New" from the term "New Year's
Resolutions". In my mind, I like to think of them as "The Year's
Resolutions" instead. My logic in this is that I want the continue with
them long after the newness of the year has worn off.
So this is what I've been kicking around for Twenty-Twelve.
1. Push Forward. (More on this shortly.)
2. Establish and Complete some photography projects for myself.
3. Invite friends to dinner at least once a month.
4. Stay active.
That's the list for the year. It may seem short, but I wanted the list
to tangible to accomplish. Plus, item number one will be a challenge in
itself. Here's why:
Over the past couple years, I've felt a bit "stuck" in where I am
in life. So this year, I've committed myself to making decisions that
will propel me forward, whether in career, relationships, or personal
growth. It's a broad and (often) intangible resolution that I've made,
but I think it will help me in the long run to gain the traction I need
to Push Forward. In some way, I think it will be the only resolution I
make this year -- the others could be considered examples of it.
So there you have it. My resolution(s) for the year. Do you have any you'd like to share?
